Sherri Scheck-Merrill has been a recognizable face at chain headquarters for the past two decades while acting as vice president for Amenity Services Inc., which is focused on business development and guestroom product design. She distinguishes herself by researching, teaching and reporting U.S. trends for her own fashion and export business.
Her passion to respond and improve the in-room experience has earned her three nominations as Businesswoman of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal. A UNLV student-athlete/Harvard Executive Education Consumer Marketing graduate, she licenses popular retail brands for hotel guestrooms. Scheck-Merrill listens endlessly to a variety of the brand teams who have been charged with launching the next in-room icon and works diligently with factories to design and develop products that to date have appeared in over 750,000 guestrooms.
After spending several years on a tennis court, followed by the role of head buyer at the largest West Coast-based sporting goods and fashion apparel export company, her knack for predicting trends landed her a columnist position at Orange Coast Magazine. She is also the author of the biannual trend-forecasting report for a major retailer in Osaka, Japan, and recently earned the sole U.S. Trend Correspondent role for Global Sourcing in Hong Kong.
