Bio for Tom Roelens

On the private island of Lanai, Tom Roelens is responsible for the transformation of the overall visitor experience, renovation and operation of two resorts, Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, a AAA Five Diamond beach front property, and The Lodge at Koele, a 102-room award winning upcountry lodge. He also was running two golf courses, Koele and Manele, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

Born and raised in Belgium, Roelens began his career in fine-dining restaurants in Belgium and France at a very young age. He has since held senior leadership roles in the luxury hospitality industry in North America, Asia Pacific, Indian Ocean, the Middle East and Europe. He has been with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for over 17 years, at The Regent Jakarta, Indonesia; in Newport Beach, California; at Four Seasons Resorts Maldives; and in Lana'i, Hawaii. 

A hotel school graduate with a postgraduate degree in public relations and media management, Roelens also studied financial and strategic management, asset management and hotel real estate investments at Cornell University.
