On Wednesday Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts announced that it will open a new resort property in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The 237-room Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is set to open in 2014. The property will be situated on an 11 acre (4.45 hectare) natural waterfront site along the Arabian Gulf about 2 km from Dubai’s central commercial district.
Bright Start, Dubai, is developing the new-build resort property and has appointed H&H Investment and Development as the development manager. Construction has already commenced. The hotel is being designed by WATG with interior design by BAMO.
“Being the Middle East's biggest tourism hub with a highly mature hospitality industry, it was important for us to be in Dubai with a strong product that can serve as one of the company flagships in this region,” said Kathleen Taylor, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts president and CEO. “As with all markets across the globe in which Four Seasons operates, it was important for us to take the time to find our niche here as well as identify a partner that first and foremost shares our service and business values.”
Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Toronto, said the resorts target customer will be an equal mix of leisure and business guests. The resort will offer three restaurants, including poolside dining.
Four Seasons previously managed the Four Seasons Golf Club Dubai Festival City, but IHG took over management of the golf club after a Four Seasons-branded hotel to be built adjacent to the golf course was cancelled in 2009.
Four Seasons is set to open the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island, located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 2015.
