Lincolnshire Marriott uses beehives to brew beer

Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, located in Lincolnshire, Illinois, is partnering with a nearby brewery to brew a special beer using on-property bees.

Honey sourced from the suburban Chicago resort’s on-property beehives is used to create the new Honey Badger beer being produced by Lake Bluff Brewery, Lake Bluff, Illinois. Honey Badger, which references a popular YouTube video, is a golden ale featuring caramel, Munich and Vienna malts and balanced with three hop varieties, with 5% alcohol and 21 IBUs.

“We’re proud of this unique brew and are happy to have Lake Bluff Brewery’s expertise,” says Joe Plucinski, Lincolnshire Marriott’s executive chef. “Using our own honey (and in the future, our own hops) and pairing up with a local brewery is just another great way for our guests to experience our commitment to a fresh, local food and beverage program.”
