Kempinski Hotels has opened its first property in Kenya: Olare Mara Kempinski, Masai Mara Tented Camp.
The camp, which is located in the Olare Orok Conservancy Masai Mara on the banks of the Ntiakitiak River, has 12 tents furnished in the grand style of old-fashioned African safaris. The tents have four poster beds and oversized claw-foot bathtubs in the ensuite bathrooms. The honeymoon suite includes a private plunge pool.
The restaurant serves a set menu at communal or individual tables; bush dinners are available with Masai warriors as protection. Bush breakfasts at the hippo pool are also available. Fresh produce comes from the camp’s organic garden.
Activities include game drives, night safaris, escorted walks, Masai village visits, or early morning balloon safaris. The resort also offers a pool and uses solar power for 70% of its energy needs.
