Regent enhances butler program

Regent Hotels & Resorts, Taipei, has announced a butler service quality enhancement program that entails further training of existing staff as well as the hiring of additional experienced butlers.

The program, named “Journey of the Stars,” also enables top butlers from Regent hotels worldwide to visit sister hotels and share best practices.

Regent, whose butlers have served celebrity guests including Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Tom Cruise, has offered a butler training program since 1990. Employees who wish to apply for butler positions must have at least a year of experience working at a Regent hotel, and the six-month butler curriculum entails strengthening trainees’ language abilities as well as internships at the concierge, front desk, room service department, kitchens and restaurants.
