What’s Hot: GHM to open Alpine ski resort

Next winter, GHM will open its first ski resort: The Chedi Andermatt in Uri, Switzerland.

The property will be part of the Andermatt Swiss Alps project, a year-round integrated destination. At an altitude of 4,725 ft (1,440 m) between the peaks of Gemmstock and Naetschen, the hotel will be a short walk from Andermatt’s old town. By train, it is 90 minutes from the hotel to Zurich or Lucerne and two hours to Milan.

Belgian designer Jean-Michel Gathy of Denniston International Architects and Planners Ltd. helped GHM conceptualize the property’s 50 guestrooms and 119 residential units with a combination of contemporary luxury and Alpine tradition.

The Chedi Andermatt will also have two restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a spa and wellness center, and ski-centric features like ski butlers and a dedicated ski living room.

The Chedi Andermatt adheres to MINERGIE Swiss quality standards and uses locally sources labor and materials.
