Starwood makes more news from Dubai with Le Méridien

On Tuesday it was Prince Harry playing polo for St. Regis Hotels & Resorts and on Wednesday Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide continued to make splashy news from its temporary home in Dubai by announcing a significant commitment to its Le Méridien hotels in the Middle East and Africa through a comprehensive renovation strategy.

Le Méridien and its ownership groups will invest more than US$200 million in the renovations of 13 hotels and resorts in the region over the next three years.

The French-born brand with a major presence in emerging Middle Eastern and African markets for more than 30 years, will add an unprecedented 10 new hotel openings globally over the next, including Le Méridien Cairo Airport in September at Terminal 3.

Many of these renovated hotels along with Le Méridien Cairo Airport will integrate the Le Méridien Hub experience into existing public spaces, re-interpreting the traditional lobby into a social gathering place with sensory experiences highlighted by curated artwork and a sophisticated café.
