Soho House New York has finished a refurbishment of both its guestrooms and its rooftop pool deck.
The guestrooms have been redone to combine the industrial atmosphere of the original building with eclectic design elements. The new look incorporates vintage chandeliers, re-purposed custom cocktail cabinets, velvet sofas, pale patterned rugs and custom hand-carved beds. Bathrooms feature hand-painted tiles, new pewter tubs, oversized mirrors and rain shower heads.
“For our hotel rooms, we have a mix of ‘grit and glamour,’ which represents our general design aesthetic,” says Vicky Charles, interior designer.
Meanwhile, the rooftop pool deck has a new look with patterned fabrics, bold colors and greenery on the walls. The lounge-like space has a long floral banquette and small tables. The new menu includes a fish sandwich with arugula and fennel and signature cocktails like the Soho strawberry lemonade.
