IHG announced on Monday that it signed an agreement with Makkah Real Estate Co. to open the 1,238-room Holiday Inn Makkah, in 2016 in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
The hotel will be the largest Holiday Inn-branded property in the world.
The hotel will be located in Al Aziziyah area near the city’s business center. IHG, Denham, England, said it is due to grow in Saudi Arabia by 50% over the next three to five years, with seven new hotels taking its total inventory from 5,880 to 7,765 rooms.
