InterContinental restaurants earn green certification

All InterContinental Hotels & Resorts’ corporate-managed restaurants in the U.S. and Canada have become Certified Green Restaurants after meeting the environmental standards of the Green Restaurant Association.

Collectively, 26 Certified Green Restaurants at InterContinental properties implemented 1,180 environmental steps in the areas of energy, water, waste, food, packaging, chemicals and building materials. Each Certified Green Restaurant has eliminated use of polystyrene foam and has implemented a full-scale recycling program.

Accomplishments at specific restaurants include the diversion of 95% of waste at Todd English’s Ça Va Brasserie at the InterContinental New York Times Square thanks to recycling and composting, as well as the installation of electric vehicle charging stations at Michael Jordan’s Chicago Steakhouse at the InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile.
