Louvre deals to add 100 Tulip Inns in China

Louvre Hotels Group, Paris, on Thursday announced the official signing of a partnership agreement with Chengdu Mareka Hotel Property Management – a Chinese player in hotel services in Sichuan province – for the development of 100 Tulip Inn hotels in the region over the next five years.

During the official announcement in Chengdu on November 19, Pierre-Frédéric Roulot and Mark Pi – whom the group recently named chairman of Tulip Inn China – announced the upcoming launch of 10 projects in collaboration with Chengdu Mareka Hotel.

These initial projects comprise the transformation of five hotels located in Chengdu, Chongqing and Xichang into Tulip Inn hotels (420 rooms); the development of four hotels located in Tibet and a Royal Tulip hotel in Chengdu (450 rooms); and the development of 20 hotel franchises a year over the next five years.

This new partnership will provide the Louvre Hotels Group with access to the customers of its partner’s loyalty program within 1,005 hotels in China, a network of more than 3 million members. This provides a new opportunity to introduce the Tulip Inn hotel chain to an ever growing Chinese customer base.

This news marks a major step for Louvre Hotels Group, which had laid the cornerstone of its development in China with the signing of a partnership agreement between Campanile and the Jingjang hotel group, with plans to open 15 hotels in this region of the world.
