Omni cocktail menu emphasizes classics with regional twists

Omni Hotels & Resorts, Dallas, has debuted a cocktail menu focused on classic cocktails with twists such as regional variations.

Curated by mixologist Kim Haasarud, the cocktail menu includes martinis, manhattans and margaritas. Regional menus will also feature local beers and regionally inspired cocktails created exclusively for Omni by Haasarud. Each of the five U.S. geographical regions — Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Texas and West — will offer a Gimlet, Collins, Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour created with regional flair. Varieties will include the Black Walnut Old Fashioned in the Northeast and the Basil Peach Gimlet in the Southeast.

“When we began developing this new classic cocktail program, it was our goal to create a menu that told a story to each of our guests,” said David Morgan, Omni’s vice president of food and beverage. “Perhaps that story is about the region they are visiting, perhaps it’s about a certain spirit or cocktail that they want to learn more about or even a great classic cocktail that evokes a specific personal story or memory.”
