Banyan Tree Spa at Banyan Tree Macau has opened an additional floor, some 230 ft (70 m) above ground.
The new City Spa has a grotto-themed design with Asian touches like bamboo and a palette of warm browns and sand colors.
The 10,850-sq-ft (1,008-sq-m) spa has seven treatment rooms, five of which are doubles.
The spa’s entrance features crystal lighting and artwork depicting the Tree of Life; the reception area has floor-to-ceiling bamboo mesh, sand-textured walls and a crystal flower pendant light. From there, guests proceed down a walkway with curved, mountain-inspired walls on both sides and a wavy ceiling. The contemporary treatment rooms have a feature wall with textured wood and asymmetric openings for tea lights and other décor elements. The wallpaper has a leaf motif, and fiber optics in the ceiling simulate the starry sky.
The new spa also has a menu of “Thai Traditions” services. The Exotic Thai package consists of a body massage, a pumpkin body conditioner and a facial treatment. The Thai Beauty package uses Thai herbs, spices and perfumes, with a body scrub, massage and facial. The Thai Ginger Classic uses a lemongrass ginger body scrub, followed by a Thai herbal heat treatment and a yoga body massage.
