W Taipei debuts exclusive beer

W Taipei has launched 5Beer, which is crafted by North Taiwan Brewery and served exclusively at the hotel’s Woobar.

The pronunciation of “five” in Chinese is similar to “woo,” which is how 5Beer got its name.

The beer underwent the process of secondary fermentation in bottle, which is similar to how champagne is made.

It has a heavier, more bitter body than many beers in addition to a hint of citrus and a semi-dry finish in addition to an alcohol percentage of 6%.

“We have created many beverages in our bars that are unique and related to Taiwan,” said W Taipei General Manager Cary Gray. “Taiwan is also famous for its beer, and we have discovered a few breweries producing high-quality ones. We had a lot of fun brainstorming and tasting with the team to explore the taste of Taipei and Woobar. We are pleased with the results of 5Beer.”
