The Viceroy Santa Monica has completed a redux.
The design team from Dawson Design Associates wanted to stay true to Kelly Wearstler’s original vision for the property. The renovation in the lobby and guestrooms focused on soft goods. The relaxed cool of the space starts with delicate tones in blue, sand and cream to evoke the beachy chic of the location. The guestroom renovation was also designed to respect the original space, with white woodwork brightening up those coastal hues. In the restaurant, the team used grays and creams for a more urban look that plays well with the green accents Wearstler is known for.
The team also added more private-space options. A seating area off the lobby can be screened with drapery. Another private event space has design elements inspired by the hotel’s original restaurant space.
