The landmark former Hotel Moskva will be relaunched as the Four Seasons Hotel Moscow and is accepting reservations beginning October 30.
The design team at Richmond International wanted to craft a look in keeping with the hotel’s storied past and original architect Alexei Shchusev’s concept for the hotel. To bring that vision in line with 21st-century travelers’ tastes, they prioritized natural light and experiential design in the hotel’s public spaces and 180 guestrooms and suites. Working desks and ergonomic furniture caters to the lifestyle-driven needs of luxury travelers.
The team also wanted to make the best possible use of space. Televisions swivel to show a mirror on the reverse side. On the outside, the renovation has preserved the hotel’s famous face and added a new glass-topped atrium.
The hotel will also offer two restaurants: the Italian-inspired Quadrum and the Nordic Russian Bystro. The 9,800 sq-ft (3,000-sq-m) spa includes 14 treatment rooms and a mosaic-tiled indoor pool.
