Home Inns profit increases in Q2: Home Inns & Hotels Management reported net income of 108.2 million yuan (US$17.5 million) for the second quarter of 2014, up 14.2% from 94.8 million yuan (US$15.4 million) earned in the same period a year ago.

Curio to expand in Dallas: Hilton Worldwide added the 198-room The Highland Dallas, formerly The Palomar Dallas, to Curio – a Collection by Hilton. The renaming follows a change of management from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

La Quinta to expand in Nicaragua, Guatemala: La Quinta Holdings signed franchise agreements to open three new hotels to be constructed in Managua, Guatemala City, Guatemala and Quetzaltenango. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2015.
