Atlanta hotel serves Coca-Cola cocktails

The InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta is offering globally inspired cocktails all using Coca-Cola through the end of September.

The 11 cocktails — priced at US$12 apiece — each represent a different country or continent and blend Coca-Cola with local ingredients or spirits specific to the culture and cuisine of a region in each country. For example, the Happy cocktail represents Thailand and infuses lemongrass and black sesame into a simple syrup for the beverage. The Japanese-inspired cocktail Wonderful features Hibiki 12, a 12-year old blended Japanese whiskey, and yuzu juice, which originates in East Asia.

The Brilliant cocktail, inspired by England, includes earl-grey-tea-infused gin, Pimm’s, lemon juice, cucumber simple syrup and Coca-Cola.

“The InterContinental brand loves to create innovative and memorable food and beverage concepts that help enhance our guests’ worldview,” said Jean-Pierre Etcheberrigaray, vice president of food and beverage at IHG for the Americas. “The new Coca-Cola cocktail menu will allow our guests to get a taste of the local flavors from some of our favorite top international destinations.”
