Studio M to enter Middle East:  Millennium & Copthorne Hotels signed an agreement with Waseel Properties and Raseel Properties to open the 145-room Studio M Hotel, Riyadh, in Q2 2015. This is the brand’s first property in the Middle East.

Ayala Land plans to redevelop Hotel InterContinental Manila site:  Ayala Land plans to redevelop the site of the 332-room Hotel InterContinental Manila, located in Makati, and is finalizing its plans for whether to relocate the hotel or not.

Asia Pacific hotel investment hits record level:  Data from Cushman & Wakefield hospitality investment market in the Asia Pacific reached a record high transaction volume of US$12.83 billion in 2013, the highest in the last 5 years and over 30% higher than 2012.

Atlific to expand in Canada:  Atlific Hotels is assuming management of the 92-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott Red Deer, located in Red Deer, Alberta.

 


Sheraton Centre Toronto to be renovated:  Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will embark on aUS$90 million renovation of the 1,371-room Sheraton Centre Toronto. The completed renovation will include full guestroom and suite refurbishment, as well as replacement of all floor and wall finishes in public corridors and hallways. As a part of the redesign, the hotel will add two new guestrooms bringing the total room count up to 1,373. After completion of the renovation all guestrooms and suites will feature new case goods, seating, lighting, mirrors and window treatments.
