What’s Hot: Atlanta hotel unveils renovation

Making a design splash doesn’t always mean boldly going where no hotel has gone before. There’s still very much a place in the design world for style that speaks rather than shouts. For the multimillion-dollar redux of the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North, the design team’s vision for the 372-room property was to create a look that incorporated local influences into an inviting contemporary atmosphere.

That started with finding just a few key focal points to add interest to the neutral-and-blue palette. Glowing lights in the reception area form a modern take on Georgia’s state tree. Local sculptor Andrew Crawford’s iron piece dominates the space. A living wall adds a sustainable touch.

For the guestrooms and suites, the team wanted to create a vibe that was tranquil. The mostly white rooms are grounded with taupe carpeting and blue-accent seating. The hotel has also debuted a new restaurant, Savor Bar & Kitchen, as part of the renovation.
