Hot Openings: Hoxton unveils second hotel

The high-low mix has been a staple of the fashion world for years. Then London’s hotel scene got a taste of that with The Hoxton, a midscale collaboration between the hotel and the ultra-exclusive Soho House Group.  Now, the Shoreditch hotel has a 174-room sister property, The Hoxton Holborn.

The styling for the hotel’s four room sizes sticks to the quirky, urban chic the brand is known for. Architect Stride and The Hoxton’s design team used wood and leather headboards to add some visual interest. Uniquely printed wallpapers help give even the smallest rooms a design identity of their own.

For the public spaces, designed by Soho House, the vibe is slightly more industrial. There’s a midcentury accent to meeting and event space The Apartment. The hotel also features the Brooklyn grill-inspired Hubbard & Bell as well as the Chicken Shop in the property’s basement. Holborn Grind, a coffee shop, and the Cheeky salon round out the hotel’s offerings.
