IHG earnings: IHG reported Monday strong third-quarter growth, announcing the best quarterly RevPAR performance in more than two years with a global growth of 7%. U.S. performance was especially strong where RevPAR was up 8.4% in the third quarter. This is the best U.S. RevPAR performance for IHG in eight years.

Rezidor continues to accelerate growth: Rezidor signed five hotels with 1,300 rooms during the third quarter, bringing its 2014 signings to a total of 22 hotels with 4,500 rooms. Rezidor also signed a country development agreement in Saudi Arabia and will develop more than 30 Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson hotels, resorts and serviced apartments.

Whitbread to expand into Germany: Whitbread has acquired the freehold of a 200-room hotel in Frankfurt and will open a Premier Inn there in 2015. Additionally, Whitbread plans to open several additional hotels in Germany over the next five years.

FibraHotel announces the development of Guadalajara hotel: FibraHotel has announced the development of a 189-room hotel in Guadalajara, Mexico. The hotel is expected to open in December 2015 and will include retail space, a sky pool and a seven-floor underground parking garage.

 


Kempinski to take over management of Berchtesgaden International Resort: Kempinski will take over management from IHG in early 2015 of Berchtesgaden International Resort in Germany’s Bavarian Alps.

 


Accor offers Orbis 46 European hotels: Accor has offered Orbis 46 hotels in central Europe for 142 million euros (US$182 million). Orbis said it will make a decision in the coming weeks.

 


Bulgari to open Beijing hotel: Bulgari will open a 120-room luxury hotel in Beijing in 2017. The hotel will be designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners. Bulgari will also open hotels in Shanghai in 2016 and Dubai in 2018.
