In a key marketing signing for Marriott International’s fledgling luxury lifestyle brand, the group and affiliates of The Witkoff Group and New Valley announced on Friday an agreement to develop an Edition hotel and residences in West Hollywood, California. Marriott will manage the hotel under a long-term contract.
“An Edition hotel in West Hollywood is a key element in our brand strategy,” said Arne Sorenson, Marriott International’s president and CEO. “Our Edition brand is growing momentum on a global scale, and we are delighted to work with The Witkoff Group as partners in bringing this fabulous new hotel to a fantastic destination.”
The West Hollywood Edition is expected to open in 2018 and will be Edition’s flagship location on the West Coast. Edition hotels are currently open in Istanbul and London, and are scheduled to eventually open in Miami; New York City; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; as well as China, India and Thailand.
