Hot Openings: Four Seasons to unveil Bahrain hotel

Going big or going home has become the mandate for a lot of hotel projects. Even outside the race to develop a new level of hyperbole in the star-rating system, today’s hoteliers clearly understand the need for the “wow” factor.

For Four Seasons Bahrain Bay (which will begin accepting reservations next March), the groundwork for that started even before the foundation was laid. The 68-story building designed by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill will be situated on a manmade private island. A cluster of meeting spaces, dining venues and a spa will occupy the base of the structure, while the 273 guestrooms will be housed in the tower. A two-level sky bridge will be home to more dining and meeting spaces.

The interior design for the guestrooms is based on the panoramic views. Deep blue tones will serve as a nod to the watery surroundings. Bold artwork will add focal points.

“From that eye-popping first impression of our distinctive building rising from its own private island in the middle of the bay to the incredible attention to every comfort and whim of our guests, we promise a true urban resort experience,” said General Manager Greg Pirkle.
