Eight stories high and spanning an entire block in New York City, from West 45th Street to West 46th Street, a new digital LED screen on the east façade of the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square is one of the largest and most ultra-high-definition displays of its kind.
The screen was activated earlier this week with a generative art exhibition by Universal Everything. Mitsubishi Electric Power Products manufactured the sign, which incorporates nearly 24 million pixels.
Vornado Realty Trust commissioned the screen as part of its redevelopment of the signage and retail components of the 1,957-room Marriott Marquis, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.
