Cachet coming to Chengdu: Cachet Hotel Group has signed a deal to open a hotel in Chengdu, China. The 191-room hotel is set to open in 2016 and will be part of the mixed-use development Chengdu Jinbao Plaza.

Marriott partners with FibraHotel in Mexico: Marriott International and FibraHotel will operate three hotels in Mexico. The hotels will be the 189-room AC by Marriott Torre Americas 1500 Guadalajara, the 130-room Courtyard by Marriott Mexico City Toreo and Fairfield Inn & Suites Saltillo.

 


Chinese president to reveal hotel plans: Chinese president Xi Jinping is expected to preside over the unveiling of plans for a US$200 million luxury hotel in Auckland, New Zealand, on November 21. Waterfront Auckland is leasing the land for the 200-room hotel to Beijing developer Fu Wah.

Philadelphia casino sees a future: Live! Hotel & Casino was awarded Philadelphia’s second gaming license after a vote by Pennsylvania’s Gaming Control Board. The US$425 million project is a partnership between Greenwood Racing Inc. and Cordish Co. and includes a  casino, four restaurants, a 200-room hotel and live-music venue.
