QHotels picks up hotels from De Vere portfolio

QHotels in the United Kingdom has added six former De Vere Hotels and De Vere Luxury Lodges to its portfolio for an estimated £160 million (US$251 million), growing its stable to 27 hotels.

The six hotels, purchased by QHotels backer Sankaty Advisors and Canyon Capital Advisors, are located across the United Kingdom and include the 5-star Cameron House in Loch Lomond and the Elizabethan-style Dunston Hall in Norfolk.

“We will be working with each hotel on an individual basis to ensure we build on the best of what they have to offer and complementing this with our experience and expertise,” said QHotels Managing Director Michael Purtill. “This will help to maximize the conference and events potential of each of the hotels while strengthening our portfolio in terms of a wider golf, spa and leisure offering.”

The sell-off of the De Vere Group is nearing completion with an announcement about the sale of De Vere Village Urban Resorts, made-up of 25 mid-market hotels, expected within the next week.
