What’s Hot: London hotel debuts nail bar

One of the biggest challenges of making any hotel design stand out today is keeping a consistent deisgn character throughout every space, concept and piece of branding on the property, from the entrance to the room key.  For the The Nail Bar at London’s 91-room Ham Yard Hotel, that meant finding a way to channel the quirky British cool of the hotel into a spa-like space.

Warm colors and plenty of pattern answer the need for a cozier take on a typical spa look. Antique style tables bring an ornate touch.   A striped chair brings a homey feel.

Designs like this work as a case study in a holistic approach to crafting a hotel’s identity. There are no hard and fast rules that trump what’s right for that property.  So, who cares if most nail bars don’t have tables that look like they stepped out of the 18th century?  Here, it works.
