Sometimes, telling a compelling design story starts with speaking softly. The design for the new AC Hotel Colón Valencia relies on a palette of refined tones and quietly elegant furnishings to make its statement. The 91-key property marks the brand’s second in the city and 60th in Spain.
For the interiors, the showcase is an extensive collection of local artwork. Keeping the rest of the design scheme quiet supports those pieces. Pearly grays and neutrals add a richness to that simplicity. Playing with hard and soft textures brings another layer of aesthetic interest, like the contrast between metal chairs and soft drapery.
The hotel also features a fitness center, the AC Lounge & Bistro, three meeting rooms and an outdoor terrace.
Projects like this make the point that “wow” doesn’t have to start with a giant focal point or high-impact pieces.
