Virgin to launch cruise line: Virgin Group has partnered with Bain Capital Partners to build a cruise line. Virgin Cruises will be based in Miami and initially consist of two cruise ships.
IHG returns to Christchurch: IHG will develop a Crowne Plaza in Christchurch, New Zealand. The 200-room hotel is set to open in 2017.
IHG signs double deal in Thailand: IHG will develop the first Holiday Inn Resort and Holiday Inn Express in Koh Samui, Thailand. The Holiday Inn Resort will open in 2018, and the Holiday Inn Express will open in 2017.
Marriott expands in Ohio: Concord Hospitality will build a Marriott Renaissance hotel and conference center in Westerville, Ohio. Construction will begin in 2015.
The Broadmoor turns over leadership: Jack Damioli has been named president and CEO of The Broadmoor effective March 1, 2015. Damioli is currently vice president and managing director at The Broadmoor. Current CEO Steve Bartolin will transition to chairman.
