Design’s fine print has never been more important. From the perfect accent lamp to a just-so pillow, every detail counts.
When it comes to working within brand standards, the fine print is doubly important. Design teams need to be able to find that line between consistency and anonymity in the hotel’s look. So, for the AC Hotels by Marriott Istanbul Macka, the goal for the 98-key property was to work within the modern European chic of the flag’s DNA and punch it up with a few elaborate pieces.
That special sauce starts with bubble-shaped lights in the lobby. The rounded outlines add another layer to a space that is mostly based on more geometric outlines. The slightly mussed feel of the knick knacks on the library shelves lends the room a lived-in quality.
The hotel also features the AC Lounge & Bistro Restaurant, a fitness facility and sauna. Three meeting spaces and the 24/7 convenience shop The Market complete its amenities.
