What’s Hot: New York boutique unveils new look

The former 60 Thompson has completed a multi-million dollar renovation and has been reflagged as the Sixty Soho by owner Jason Pomeranc, who is now growing his Sixty Hotels brand. The next Sixty opens in Miami early next year.

The 97-room property has been re-imagined by Tara Bernerd & Partners as an understated, chic space with the vibe of a cool member’s club.

A palette of textures and materials gives the look depth. Velvet in the lobby provides an elegant counterpoint to the grays in the wood paneling. A patterned carpet adds detail.  The guestrooms’ caramel furniture sits on blue-tinted planked floors. British artist Harland Miller was commissioned to create and curate the hotel’s art collection.

The Gordon Bar's pattern carpet draws the eye.

“The transformation of Sixty SoHo creates a stylish, residential environment for our guests seeking an exclusive urban retreat,” said Pomeranc. “People have forgotten there is a narrative to be told in the hotel sector; we strive to be cultural story-tellers through art, design, experiences and service that will welcome, excite and inspire our guests long after they have checked out.”
