Memphis Marriott East to be acquired: Ashford Hospitality Trust, Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the 232-room Memphis Marriott East hotel for US$43.5 million in cash. The acquisition is expected to close within the next 30 days. After closing, the property will be managed by Remington Lodging.

Edinburgh’s Radisson Blu sold: Radisson Blu Hotel in Edinburgh has been sold to a German investor for more than its original £59 million (US$67.2 million). The sale of the 238-room hotel marks the largest transaction in Scotland since 2007.

Lexington grows in South Korea: Vantage Hospitality Group’s Lexington by Vantage brand has announced two new construction projects in Seogwipo and Jeju City in South Korea. The 225-room Value Hotel Worldwide in Seogwipo is expected to open in December and the 357-room hotel in Jeju City will open in 2016.

 


Fairmont expands in China: Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Oceanwide Hotel Investment Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Central Business Area Construction Investment Joint Stock Company have announced the development of a new hotel in Wuhan, China. The 350-room Fairmont Wuhan is slated to open in 2017.

New management at Westin Fort Lauderdale: HEI Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The hotel includes 432 guestrooms, 32,000 square feet of meeting space and a spa.
