Yotel exhibits lost and found

Yotel New York debuted an original public art installation featuring items left behind by the hotel’s guests. Artist Zack Hyman collected over one thousand items over six months to create the installation “Mythologies: Artifacts from Lost & Found.”

The exhibit features a series of 18 items that have been found by Yotel New York employees. Hyman fictionalized myths that tell the history of the object presented as handwritten notes.

One Mythologies exhibit features a glass dragon figurine that is believed to be more than 100 years old.

“Mythologies” is Hyman’s second art installation at Yotel New York. His first project was a sculpture titled “Media Flow” and featured more than 3,000 colorful plastic balls inspired by the hotel’s eclectic design. “Mythologies” will be on display through March.
