AWH, Spire team up again; this time in Dallas

New York-based developer AWH Partners has acquired the Westin Dallas Park Central and assigned management to Spire Hospitality, Northbrook, Illinois. AWH plans to invest US$20 million into a renovation of the 536 rooms and 42,000 square feet of meeting and event space under a franchise agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

With recent investments in markets like Atlanta, Los Angeles and Seattle, five-year-old AWH Partners concentrates their attention in large cities. “Growing our presence in major markets like Dallas is very much in line with our overall strategy of occupying strong markets by investing in large hotels with big meeting space that offer an opportunity for value-add through renovation,” said Bernard Michael, principal of AWH Partners. “We are extremely pleased with the outlook for this investment.”

This deal marks the 12th hotel awarded to Spire in a 12-month span. “Our team is honored and excited to reconnect with Starwood Hotels & Resorts,” said Bill DeForrest, president & CEO of Spire Hospitality. “Dallas is a incredible market and with the extraordinary renovation planned for this Westin, this hotel is positioned for a tremendous future with its existing service culture.”
