Hawaii sets revenue record: Hawaii’s hotel industry generated a record US$5.4 billion in revenue in 2014. According to Hospitality Advisors LLC, ADR rose 5.5% to US$242.63.

Six Senses to open Bali resort: Six Senses will develop a resort southwest of Bali at Uluwatu. Six Senses Bali is expected to open in 2017 and include 28 sky villas, 62 one-bedroom villas and seven two-bedroom villas.

Renewed investor interest:  According to a recent HVS report, 2014 was a record year for European hotel transaction volumes. Up 86% from 2013, volumes reached a total of €4.4 billion (US$5 billion), a new record since the onset of the global financial crisis.
