Accor signs commitment to gender equality

In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, Accor signed the United Nations’ Women’s Empowerment Principles. The program is an initiative of UN Women and the United Nations Global Compact and defines seven principles aimed to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and the community.

“By signing the Women’s Empowerment Principles, Accor is reasserting its commitment to fight stereotypes and encourage an increase in the percentage of women in decision-making positions,” said Sébastien Bazin, Accor’s chairman and CEO. “I am convinced that diversity is an asset that stimulates performance and innovation within our teams.”

Accor has also emphasized equality in the workplace in its 2011 Diversity Charter and through the creation of Women at Accor Generation, an international network aimed to support the personal and professional development of Accor’s female employees in head offices and hotels.
