Moxy to expand in Europe: Marriott International announced plans to open 2,700 Moxy hotel rooms throughout Europe by the end of 2016. By 2020, the company’s goal is to open 150 Moxy hotels and 25,000 rooms.

IHG grows in Germany: IHG has signed a multiple development agreement to develop 10 hotels in Germany by 2019 with first-time franchisee for the company, Interstar. The hotels will add approximately 1,700 rooms when signed to Germany’s current development pipeline of close to 4,000 rooms

Wynn closes on Everett land: Wynn Resorts has closed on land in Everett, Massachusetts, from the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for US$6 million. The purchase will allow Wynn to use its preferred design for the entrance to its US$1.6 billion gambling resort expected to open in late 2017 or early 2018.

Grand Canyon University to launch hospitality program: Grand Canyon University in Phoenix will launch a new undergraduate program degree program in hospitality management this fall. Students will also learn and practice skills at a newly refurbished Grand Canton University Hotel that includes 152 guestrooms, restaurant, pool and conference center.

Choice declares cash dividend: Choice Hotels International’s board of directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of US$0.195 per share of common stock. The dividend is payable on April 17 to shareholders of record on April 3.

Third Revel bid: A federal bankruptcy court judge will consider a third attempt to buy the Revel Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. Glenn Straub, who previously tried to buy the property for US$95.4 million but missed the February 9 deadline, has placed a bet for US$82 million.
