Hot Openings: Bahrain hotel celebrates marine style

Given its location on a man-made private island, it might not come as a surprise that the interior design for the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay came from the sea. However, for Pierre-Yves Rochon — the mastermind behind the guestrooms, public spaces and function areas for the 273-key hotel (the Wolfgang Puck and Vento restaurants were designed by Waldo Fernandez, and the Bahrain Bay Kitchen was designed by EDG) — that vision board started not with the water itself but with the concept of an ultra-luxe cruise ship from the past.

The lounge chairs in the guestrooms are inspired by those originally made for the SS Normandie. The glossy tones that finish off the spaces echo the richness of a first-class cabin. Deeper tones punch up the color scheme.

The hotel also features two gyms and five swimming pools. In addition to Wolfgang Puck’s three dining venues, it offers two more options: Blue Moon Lounge and re/Asian Cuisine. Four additional venues round out the offer.
