Steigenberger completes franchise agreement for Istanbul hotel: A franchise agreement has been finalized between the Palace Hotel Turizm Hizmetleri AS and the Steigenberger Hotel Group to operate the 305-key Steigenberger Hotel Maslak, Istanbul.

 


JetBlue considers hotel venture: JetBlue Airways Corp. and MCR Development reportedly are in advanced negotiations with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for the rights to turn the Trans World Airlines terminal at Kennedy Airport into a hotel.

Courtyard to expand in Caribbean: Marriott International announced today plans to open the first Courtyard by Marriott brand hotel in Curaçao in the city of Willemstad. The 177-room project will be developed by CMC Real Estate N.V. and is scheduled to open in 2017.

Apple Leisure Group signs management deal in Jamaica: Apple Leisure Group subsidiary AMResorts announced its family-friendly brand, Sunscape Resorts & Spas, will open its first resort in Jamaica with the signing of the 430-key Sunscape Montego Bay. AMResorts plans to begin enhancements at the resort in May and will officially assume operations of the resort August 1. The property will remain under the Sunset Beach Resort, Spa and Water Park and the Oasis at Sunset name until its official rebranding in late 2015.     

 


Hilton Garden Inn planned for Argentina: Hilton Worldwide announced the signing of a management agreement with ASPA LLC to operate a new-build 130-room Hilton Garden Inn in Neuquén, Argentina, which is scheduled to open in 2018.

 


Karma Royal Group restructures: Karma Royal Group said all operations will be run through three new divisions — Asia and Australia, India and Middle East, and Europe and Caribbean — which will each have its own budgets, cash flows and targets and be wholly independent.
