Hot Openings: Cambria Suites makes NYC debut

Call it flower power. For the 135 suite Cambria Suites in New York, Gene Kaufman Architect turned to the city’s Flower District for inspiration. The motif is reinterpreted endlessly throughout the hotel. It’s the subject of artwork in the corridors and guestrooms. It’s the jumping off point for the curvy furniture in the lobby. It drives the blend of shades that define the spaces.

Warm shades in the public spaces support the design statement. In the guestrooms, natural light and plank flooring offer a serene take. Concrete floors and modern takes on industrial lighting in the public spaces keep up the area’s more industrial side.

“Choice invited us to completely reimagine Cambria’s interiors, and that’s what we’ve done. The layout and design of both the common areas and the suites work together to maximize open space and deliver a fun, fresh and distinctly New York sensibility,” Kaufman said.
