What’s Hot: Indianapolis hotel unveils arty suites

Art hotels are having (more) than a moment in the spotlight. What’s news is that the art is moving away from the gallery format and into more unique spots. For projects like The Collection suites at the Conrad Indianapolis, it’s also about using art to create a theme for the design.

Each of the four suites take the aesthetic of an artistic movement as inspiration.  Original  art by artists like Picasso and Dali forms the backbone of the design. The style and color palette of each suite is designed around the artwork.

But, part of the art of designing projects like this is making them fit into the hotel’s existing DNA. Streamlined furnishings keep the look effortless. “This new luxury space was designed in a very precise manner, being thoughtful to the timeless elegance of the overall hotel look and feel, while stimulating an innovative art experience for our guests,” said general manager Greg Tinsley.
