What’s Hot: Costa Rica resort unveils renovation

Doing a “take two” for any design can be challenging, but resort design refreshes have a certain difficulty level all their own. Keeping the style current without losing the serene cool that often defines the spaces means walking a careful line between design that’s exciting and design that can be overwhelming for the guest.

EDG and Paul Duesing Partners faced that with their vision for the redux of the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo. Adding in pops of gentle accent colors like light green and lavender brings in a new spice to the conventional neutrals in the guestrooms of the 154-key hotel. Delicate patterns and textures, from wallpaper to chair backs, polish off the statement.

Lavender adds an unexpected touch.

“Whether in search of relaxation or adventure, Four Seasons has long been a beloved escape for travelers who appreciate the beauty, authentic culture and relaxed lifestyle that Costa Rica embodies,” said Pascal Forotti, general manager of the resort. “In staying true to pura vida style, our enrichment project was designed to elevate the guest experience and incorporate our unique sense of place even further — essentially taking paradise to the next level. We are excited to welcome guests to experience our stylish new look and guest offerings.”
