What’s Hot: London hotel to unveil renovation

There’s no shortage of exquisitely redone historic hotels. From opulent restoration projects to radical rethinking, the rich detailing and great bones of these properties are among designers’ favorite playgrounds.

However, that means designers will need to work harder to find something new to say. For the renovation of The Lanesborough London (with a soft reopening July 1), that meant keeping the elegant vibe the hotel is known for and adding a modern spin to the 93-key property.

A Regency palette of pastels keeps the look airy. Alberto Pinto’s design for the hotel stays true to the original spirit of the spaces. Delicate shapes add refinement.

“With its strategic location in the heart of London, The Lanesborough with managing director Geoffrey Gelardi at its helm is a prestigious addition to our portfolio, a major step for our development, and a natural complement to Le Bristol Paris, its sister hotel,” said Frank Marrenbach, CEO, Oetker Collection.
