China giant Wanda names president

Wanda Hotels & Resorts, Beijing, has appointed Qian Jin as president. In his new role, Jin will lead and oversee Wanda’s global growth plan.

Jin is a 30-year industry veteran, beginning his career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in 1986 at the Sheraton Hua Ting Hotel in Shanghai. Two years later, he was relocated to Fiji Island to be a hotel manager and was then promoted to general manager at Sheraton Langkawi Beach Resort in 1995. Jin joined the group’s regional headquarters in Singapore in 2000 to oversee the operations in Greater China, and in 2012 he was named president of Greater China.

“I am honored to be appointed to this role,” Jin said. “It is a very exciting time for Wanda Hotels & Resorts. I look forward to working closely with the management team to take the company to a new chapter, further reinforcing Wanda’s leading position in the international market.”

An MBA graduate of Bond University, Australia, Jin earned his doctorate degree in business administration from Victoria University.
