San Francisco hotel’s new uniforms play up maritime vibe

San Francisco’s new Hotel Zephyr has partnered with California-based fashion designer Melissa Fleis to create distinctive hotel uniforms inspired by the property’s maritime design, which was envisioned by Dawson Design Associates.

Working with California-based vendors, Fleis used materials ranging from cotton blends and French terry to fleece yoga fabrics and denim to create uniforms that are both comfortable and professional.

The front-desk uniform features gray blazers with removable hoodies paired with jeans and a relaxed graphic T-shirt. Bellmen will be outfitted with hand-sewn slate-colored hoodies, and housekeepers will wear customized denim dresses and jackets.

“Hotel Zephyr wouldn’t be what it is without our staff embracing our vision of exploration and adventure,” said General Manager Carmen Cruz. “These uniforms reflect that mindset.”
