Ferrari inspires tea at Hong Kong hotel

Tosca at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong is planning to offer the Red Afternoon Tea, which is inspired by the Ferrari Junior Collection — a line created exclusively for Asia.

Created by Tosca Chef Pino Lavarra and Executive Pastry Chef Richard Long, the tea showcases delicacies whose ingredients hail from Maranello, Italy — the same region Ferrari calls home — such as Parma ham and parmesan cheese, which appear in the tea’s grissini stick, parmesan pop and saffron rice wheel. The tea also includes panna cotta with red berry compote, red fruit macarons, a blood-orange sphere, a strawberry pistachio tartlet, cannoli with raspberry mascarpone cream, checkered flags, faux wheels and a car key made from white chocolate.

“Afternoon tea is not a common tradition in Italy, and it’s never before been served at Tosca,” Lavarra said. “That’s why our Red Afternoon Tea blends artisanal traditions with Italian gastronomy — it had to be entirely original and dynamic to be a part of Tosca.”

The Red Afternoon Tea will be offered for the four Saturdays in August and is priced at HK$480 (US$62) per person, including a glass of NV Ferrari Brut Rosé.
