Hot Openings: Six Senses debuts in Europe

Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas recently unveiled its first resort in Europe, in Portugal’s Douro Valley.

The resort covers 20 acres (8 hectares) and comprises 57 guest accommodations. With a décor of light grays and sandy tones, New York-based Clodagh Design has created interiors with eco-friendly materials blending nature with Portuguese traditional design. The use of natural stone, wood and water is emphasized throughout the property.

Located in the Portuguese UNESCO World Heritage area of the Douro Valley, the property aims to combine the romance of 19th-century architecture with contemporary interiors.
