Starwood reports second-quarter results: Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide reported its second-quarter 2015 EBITDA was US$311 million. Worldwide systemwide RevPAR for same-store hotels increased 4.1% in constant dollars compared to 2014. Starwood also signed 64 management and franchise contracts during Q2 2015 (approximately 14,400 rooms), a 69% increase in signed rooms compared to 2014.

Host reports second-quarter earnings: Host Hotels & Resorts reported its second-quarter 2015 net income increased US$57 million to US$216 million. Year-to-date net income decreased US$24 million to US$320 million.

Noble House expands in San Francisco: Noble House Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of the Argonaut Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel and The Tuscan Fisherman’s Wharf, a Best Western Plus hotel, in San Francisco. The hotels bring Noble House’s hospitality portfolio to 18 properties.

Elan Soho Suites acquired, rebranded: Oaks Hotels & Resorts purchased Elan Soho Suites in Darwin, Australia, for US$57.1 million. The hotel will be rebranded as Oaks Elan Darwin and will officially launch September 1.
